Florence Clark, 93, of Spring Valley, died Monday, March 5, 2012, at Ostrander Care and Rehab in Ostrander.
Florence Rose Beier was born July 22, 1918, in Bennington Township, Mower County, to Fred William and Rosa Anna Bertha (Koball) Beier. She was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church in Spring Valley and attended grade school in Bennington Township, Mower County. She later attended high school in Spring Valley.
On Nov. 27, 1937, she was united in marriage to Paul William Clark of Ostrander and together they farmed in the Ostrander and Spring Valley communities most of their lives. They moved to Spring Valley in November of 1969. Florence delivered meals for the church with Donna Cooper for 14 years; she did babysitting, enjoyed doing fancy work and gardening. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Darlene Monberg of Arizona, Irene Nelson, Patricia Grube of Iowa; one son, Harold (Linda) Clark of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert G. Beier of Arizona; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 31, 2008, one brother, one sister, her parents, stepmother, stepsister and sister-in-law.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the food shelf of your choice.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley with the Rev. Dennis Timmerman and the Rev. Laura Fladten officiating and burial in the family plot at Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery.
