Harriet Esther (Tabor) Eisenman, 94, of Rochester, formerly of Spring Valley, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.

She was born Jan. 13, 1919, near Molt, Mont., to Roy and Lillian Tabor. She attended Park City High School and graduated from teacher's college, Montana State University at Billings, Mont. In 1939 her family returned to Spring Valley to live on her grandfather's farm. She taught at rural Hamilton and Zion schools for nine years. On Dec. 21, 1946, she married Ralph Eisenman and together they farmed northeast of Spring Valley. In 2003 she moved to Spring Valley, and in 2007 she relocated to Rochester.

Her favorite times were spent gardening, raising African violets, bird watching, painting and drawing. She enjoyed corresponding with her Montana friends and others over the years. She was a great Scrabble player and loved family gatherings. She will be remembered for her calm and loving presence and her unwavering faith.

She is survived by a son, Steve (Cheryl) Eisenman of Spring Valley; three daughters, Elaine Eisenman of Rochester, Jeanette (Rick) Lexby of Chicago and Rosann Eisenman of Rochester; five grandchildren, Brent (Holly) Eisenman, Chelanne Eisenman, and Allison, Mark and Stephen Lexby; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Isabel Eisenman; a brother, Warren Tabor of New Hope, Minn.; a sister, Marilyn (Bob) Latcham of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her parents, Roy and Lillian Tabor; and her brothers, Roy Jr. and Wayne Tabor.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 4, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley, with her home fellowship ministers officiating.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Washington Cemetery, at a later date.
