Huberta Fenstermacher
Huberta Moon Fenstermacher, 83, of Spring Valley, died Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2012, at her daughter's home surrounded by family.

Huberta was born April 12, 1929, in Hayfield, Minn., to Hubert and Louisa (Fleming) Stippich. She graduated from Hayfield High School and attended Winona State Teacher's College. After graduation she taught in Saint Louis Park, Grand Meadow and Spring Valley. While teaching in Spring Valley she met her husband, Dale Johnson Fenstermacher. They married on Aug. 1, 1954, in Hayfield at her parent's home. They made their home and raised their children in rural Spring Valley.

After her children left home, Huberta returned to work at the local Kwik Trip and Historical Society. After Dale's death in July 1993, she moved to Hillside Homes in Spring Valley.

Huberta enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, playing cards and worshiping at Faith United Methodist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. First and foremost in Huberta's life was family.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Myron) Rollie and Naomi (Steve) Johnson; and two sons, Daniel Thomas Fenstermacher and Wilbur (Carol) Fenstermacher, all of the Spring Valley area; nine grandsons, Benjamin (Mandy) Johnson, Nevin (Hannah) Fenstermacher, James (Brenda) Johnson, Jacob (Elissa) Fenstermacher, Mychal (Sophie) Rollie, Daniel (Jessica) Rollie, Samuel (Candice) Johnson, Christian (Ali) Fenstermacher and Joel Rollie; a proud great-grandmother of 13; and two sisters, Audrey Welte of Denver, Colo., and Orla Karjala of Cologne, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; and two sisters, Mary Elben and Lydia Rose Stippich.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley with the Rev. Beth Perez and the Rev. Mark Rader co-officiating. Burial of her ashes will be in the Spring Valley Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Thauwald Funeral Home in Spring Valley, 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and at the church on Saturday an hour before the service.
