Jean Keim, also know as "Oma", formerly of Spring Valley, died peacefully at her home on Jan 8, 2014, in Minnetonka, Minn.

Born in Minneapolis to Esther and Rudolph Kruegel (brother of Henry Kruegel), by the age of 17 she and her family had camped from Niagara Falls to San Diego. She married Al Keim (son of the Rev. George and Lena Keim) and they raised seven children in Spring Valley before moving to the Twin Cities.

She is survived by her children, Susan, Dennis (Lea), Douglas (Betsy), Linda (Dave Abnet), Stephen (Nanci), James (Gloria); a daughter-in law, Signe (Daryl); 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Al; a son, Daryl; and a brother, Jack.

The celebration of her zest for life, family and travel will be at Liberty Baptist Church, 6500 Baker Rd., Eden Prairie, on Jan 17. Visitation is at 10 a.m. and the service at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in the spring at Our Savior's Lutheran Cemetery in Spring Valley.
