Lawrence Marvin Bowlin, 79, of Lebanon, Mo., formerly of Spring Valley, died in his sleep at his home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Mason City, Iowa, to Marvin Reeves Bowlin and Myrtle Mae Bowlin.

In life, he had many friends and almost as many jobs. He always said he was a "jack of all trades and a master of none." He enjoyed life and was never too far from his family.

He is survived by his children, William Robert Bowlin of Butler, Mo., Lorrie Marlene Hopper of Lee's Summit, Mo. and Larry Dean Bowlin of Lebanon, Mo.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death his wife, Mary Ann Rogers Bowlin.

The family is asking that, in place of sending flowers, family and friends plant something in their yards. He grew very fond of planting things in his later years. Please plant something and enjoy its beauty and maybe bring back his memory as it grows.

It was his last wish to be cremated and have his ashes spread with his mom and dad in Clear Lake, Iowa, at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

There will be a memorial remembrance for him on May 25, 2014, at 11 a.m., in Missouri to give loved ones that knew him time to come home as well.
