Marlys J. Wagner, 84, of Mission, Texas, died Friday morning, May 17, 2013, at the Comfort House in McAllen, Texas.

Marlys was born Oct. 2, 1928, in Iowa the daughter of Soren Pater and Kari (Johnsen) Christensen. She married Lyle P. Wagner of Spring Valley, May 16, 1954, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The couple lived in Cedar Falls before moving to Crosslake, Minn., where they owned and operated a resort for 21 years until their retirement in 1986. Since 1989 the couple were full time RVers, mainly in the Midwest and South. Following Lyle's death on June 3, 1998, she made her home in Mission during the winter and traveled and visited during the summer.

She is survived by one brother, Bernie Christensen of Calgary, Canada; five nephews; and her "girls", Jeanette McNee of Pine Island, Judy Miller of Apple Valley and Joanne Almendinger of Sunbury, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers and sisters.

There will be a graveside memorial service 11 a.m., Monday, June 10, at the Etna Cemetery in rural Spring Valley.
