Mary Jean Blaisdell, 64, of Jackson, N.J., died Monday, March 10, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J.

She was born July 19, 1949, in Dodge Center, the daughter of Harold and Evelyn (Phelps) Moreland.

She graduated from West Concord High School with the Class of 1967 and then attended Mankato State College, where she earned her associate degree.

She married Steven Blaisdell on April 17, 1970. The couple lived in Florissant, Mo., until 1988 and then moved to Jackson, N.J.

She worked caring for other's children, having as many as four daily on top of her own.

She enjoyed crafting, baking, her garden and most of all loving her husband, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah; sons, Adam and Andrew; grandsons, Zachary and Ethan; granddaughter, Elena; daughters-in-law, Jackie and Louise; son-in-law, Paul; mother, Evelyn Moreland of West Concord; six siblings, Pat (Ed) Stoltenberg of Denver, Colo., Richard Bennett, of Dodge Center, Sharon (Bruce) Norton of Rochester, Janice (Keith) Applequist of Rochester, Diane (Greg) Zelinske of O'Fallon, Ill., and Merlin (Cheryl) Moreland of Dodge Center and brother-in-law, Ed Buchanan of Spring Valley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Blaisdell; father, Harold Moreland; brother, Robert Bennett and sister, Gerry Buchanan.
