Orville P. Knudtson, 93, of Yuma, Ariz., died on Saturday, June 14, 2014.

He was born on Jan. 25, 1921, in Milford, Iowa, to Knudt S. Knudtson and Mary Knudtson.

He married Virginia Sample in 1944. They farmed first near Terril, Iowa, and later near Spring Valley.

In 1963 he moved his family to Prescott, Ariz. There he raised and trained Arabian horses until they relocated to Yuma, Ariz., in 2008.

He is survived by his sons, Jon (Leone Neegan) of Yuma, Ariz., and Kris (Chrissie) of Benson, Ariz.; his brother, Freeman of Spencer, Iowa; his sister, Marie (Bud) Welle of Milford, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Greta Dannatt and Rose Anderson; his brother, Kenneth and his beloved wife, Virginia.

The family suggests donations to Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church or to the charity of your choice.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday July 1, at Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church in Yuma, Ariz.
