Richard Owen Bremseth, 80, of Simpson, Minn., died at his home on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, after a battle with cancer.

Mr. Bremseth was born June 3, 1932, in rural Preston, to Casper and Cora Bremseth. He grew up in Fillmore County and farmed in Chatfield in the 1960s. He moved to Spring Valley in 1968 and started J & B Builders. He lived in rural Stewartville before settling in Simpson in 1984.

He is survived by his lifelong best friend, Jim Johnson; three sisters, Freda Lobland of Rochester, Martha Vogen of Stewartville and Ovedia Bakken of Wykoff; one brother-in-law, Clayton Sorenson of Austin; and 52 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and eight sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 8, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, with the Revs. Dennis Timmerman and Laura Fladten officiating.
