S. Lynn DeBoer, 85, of Stewartville, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, of natural causes at his home.

He was born March 1, 1927, in Dexter, to Henry "Hank" and Helen (Bryza) DeBoer. He grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools and was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army two years. He married Ruth O. Gilbert Oct. 19, 1947, in Grand Meadow. They lived in Grand Meadow before moving to Austin, Spring Valley, Reedsburg, Wis., and settling in Stewartville following his retirement. He was a butter maker and supervisor/engineer for Wisconsin Dairies, now known as Foremost Farms USA, until he retired in 1990.

He was married to Ruth for 49 years when she died Feb. 22, 1996. He married Angeline Gilbert Buschmann Jan. 10, 1998. They were married for 13 years when she died Feb. 28, 2011.

He was a member of the Stewartville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, traveling, and gardening.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary (Robert) Howard of rural Stewartville; one son, Thomas (Kathy) of Rochester; three grandchildren, Laurie, Susan and Jennifer; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Stahl of Austin; two stepdaughters, Sandra (Richard) Schwartz of Atlanta, Ga., and Carol (Paul Widergren) Gratton of Harrison, Ark.; five stepgrandchildren and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to his two wives, he was preceded in death by two sisters, and four brothers.

The funeral service was Monday, Feb. 25, at the United Methodist Church in Stewartville with the Rev. Wane Souhrada officiating and burial at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter.

Arrangements were with Griffin-Gray Funeral Home in Stewartville.
