The bad news is he knows when you've been naughty, but the good news is Santa Claus is coming to town, thanks to the Ostrander Lions.

Santa will be making a stop during his busy holiday season at the Ostrander Community Center at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, to meet all the area children and hear what they'd like for Christmas this year.

There will be treats and refreshments for the youngsters and their families and, of course, cookies for Santa.

Kids can register for the holiday drawing, which will take place at the community center at 1:30 (must be present to win).

If Santa warns of coal in your stocking, Ostrander has a great way to get you back on the good list this year, as the town will be hosting Love Lights a Tree on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. at the community center.

The proceeds from the event, which is also sponsored by the Ostrander Lions, will go toward cancer research.

If you would like to purchase a luminary, contact Diane Thompson at (507) 657-2465 and if you would like to give a donation, leave your information and donation at the Ostrander Security State Bank by Wednesday, Dec. 11.

The Lions ask community members to bring at least one item for donation to the local food shelf when attending either event.
