Spring Valley's Music in the Park will once again be bringing neighbors together to listen to the toe-tapping delights of local talents.

This year the season opener will be combined with the city's second Family Fun Night on June 8.

For its second installment of the 2014 family series, the festivities will be moved to Spring Creek Park and will include an inflatable bouncer, amazing castle, money machine, a bike/run/walk event plus many other activities for young and old. The fun will begin at 4 p.m. and conclude at 8 p.m. If raining, the events will be held at the Community Center,

Spring Valley is one of 10 communities throughout Minnesota promoting and celebrating healthy living this summer with Family Fun Nights thanks in part to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.

As for the Music in the Park kick-off event, Minnesota's own Bob and the Beachcombers will be "surfing the '60s and rocking the '70s" with summer classics ranging from The Beach Boys to Jimmy Buffet beginning at 6 p.m. and lasting until 8 p.m.

For the last 27 years the band has been entertaining audiences all around the upper Midwest with colorful personalities and toe-tapping music.

During the event food will offered by the Spring Valley Kiwanis as a fundraiser for future service projects.

So bring your lawn chairs down to Spring Creek Park to enjoy a fun-filled evening with the city of Spring Valley.
