"We've got Franks and a few other people," said Wykoff-Cherry Grove area Relay for Life team member Judy Frank.

She said her Relay for Life team, returning to the track for the sixth year on July 11, is called Franks & Then Some.
"It's family members and other friends who want to be on the team. We've had the team for six years now - we started it when the Relay was in Wykoff," Judy said. "We were supporters of the Relay because both my dad and Paul's dad had cancer, and we've had family members who've passed away from cancer, so we started a team to support the Relay."
The team is comprised of Judy, her husband, Paul, their children and extended Frank family members. The "Then Some" include various friends who've come and gone throughout the years as they're able - hailing from Wykoff, Spring Valley, Rochester, Hayfield and La Crosse.
"Whoever can come to the Relay comes and walks with us," Judy related. She added that the team's composition has changed according to who is available during Relay weekend.
Franks & Then Some members donate items for the Relay's silent auction and ask others to contribute memorials through the purchase of luminarias.
"We make baskets and donate silent auction items...that's our way of fundraising," Judy explained. "We can't stay for the entire night anymore because we have family events going on the next day, but we still go and support it, just in a different fashion."
Judy said she enjoys the night of festivities and looks forward to lighting the luminarias and seeing them light up the walking path in the dark.
"I love seeing them in the dark, walking the track and seeing all the names of people affected by cancer," Judy concluded. "The balloon release brings tears to my eyes. I like that and seeing the luminarias lit. I look forward to going to support those two things and every penny we raise helps...everything we raise helps."
