Elvis impersonator Brad Boice will be bringing his talent to Spring Creek Park in Spring Valley on Sunday, June 9, for the kickoff event for Music in the Park.
Elvis impersonator Brad Boice
Boice, a Minnesota native, has been performing since 2005 and does up to 60 concerts a year entertaining people throughout the country. He is a four-time recipient of the "Spirit of Elvis" award, which is part of the nationally recognized "Elvis Explosion," in addition to several other awards.
The Spring Valley Community Foundation is sponsoring the kickoff event this year.
According to foundation President Sue Kolling, they sponsor such events to enhance the quality of life for the area residents and to bring everyone in the community together so people of all ages can share in the experience together.
The Spring Valley Area Community Foundation will be selling 50/50 tickets during the concert to raise money for future foundation donations.
There will also be a free-will donation supper served by the Spring Valley Fire Department. The meal includes hot dogs, chips and watermelon.
The proceeds will go toward new playground equipment for the park.
While you enjoy the show take a spin in the new merry-go-round, which was purchased with the proceeds from last year.
Spring Valley will be playing host to Music in the Park every Sunday from 6 to 8 pm, beginning with this kick-off concert until the final concert on July 28.
People attending are advised to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on the lawn.
If the weather does not allow for the event to be held outside it will be moved to the Spring Valley Community Center.
Schedule cards are also available at Spring Valley area banks and the public library.
