Former Spring Valley Tribune editor Charlie Warner will be performing for the Spring Valley summer music-in-the-park series on Sunday, July 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spring Creek Park.
Warner, who has been living in Canton for the past 25 years, has been involved in music his entire life. He majored in percussion while attending Golden Valley Lutheran College in the Twin Cities and performed in high school and college concert bands and choirs, as well as a community orchestra.
Warner was a harmonica-playing drummer in various rock/blues bands in the Twin Cities and in southeastern Minnesota in the 1980s and '90s. During the past decade, Warner has been performing throughout the area as an acoustic guitar/singer one-piece act. With guitar, harmonica and occasional kazoo, he performs country, bluegrass, rock, blues spanning four decades, as well as many original songs he has composed.
Also, don't forget to bring your picnics and lawn chairs as the park makes a nice location to enjoy a meal with the music. The rain location is in the community center.
