Put post prom in the bag.
"It's for the post prom party," said Kingsland Post Prom Committee member Denae Harder, speaking of the purse sale slated for this Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Spring Valley Community Center during Christmas on Historic Broadway. "The proceeds are for the all-night party after prom."
Harder stated that the sale features "just about anything." The group started last year when people donated gently used or new purses, and it also got some from Chateau de Chic.
"It's a hodgepodge of small clutches to large bags, and we've inherited what didn't sell last year and added to it," said Harder. "There was a Coach purse for $25, but that was the most expensive thing so far at the Spring Valley Expo. We have good prices, and we're also selling Kingsland fleece blankets."
Harder shared that she feels very strongly about raising funds for the Kingsland post prom party.
"We didn't have something like this when I was in high school, and the post prom party keeps kids safe all night. That's the goal," she said. "I feel it's important, whether or not you have kids in high school. Our responsibility is to keep them safe. I've always felt strongly about the post prom party. It's a wonderful option for our kids, great for them to have. We'll have more fundraisers, and we appreciate any support."
The Kingsland Post Prom Committee's purse sale will take place at the Spring Valley Community Center from noon to 6 p.m. this Saturday.
