SEMA Equipment will be collecting Toys for Tots during its annual Santa Days and holiday open house events this week. The main focus of the events is collecting.

SEMA is a major sponsor of Toys for Tots, the Marine Corps led program to collect new, unopened toys for children in need during the holiday season. In addition to collecting toys from community members, SEMA also rallies its employees to collect cash donations. SEMA then matches the employee contributions and the total is used to purchase John Deere toys for Toys for Tots. In 2012, SEMA and its employees donated $3,000 in toys.

Santa Days and holiday open house events will include a visit from Santa on his John Deere tractor, cookies with Santa, photos with Santa, holiday crafts, giveaways, door prizes and rides on a John Deere tractor with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Santa Days will be held at the Spring Valley SEMA on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be a free pancake breakfast served by the Spring Valley Fire Department from 8 a.m. until gone. Santa arrives in his John Deere tractor at 9 a.m. Crafts by the Kingsland's Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) are also available.
