Sex offender's stay in
Fillmore County brief
Tuesday, September 24, 2013 3:23 AM
A Level 3 registered predatory sex offender won't be living in Fillmore County after all.
The offender had earlier informed authorities he was moving to Fillmore County from Rochester, but he has now moved out of Fillmore County and reports that he will be living in Rochester, according to Fillmore County Sheriff's Captain John DeGoerge.
It was reported earlier last week that 29-year-old Joshua Jones had moved to a residence near Preston in Fillmore County. Deputies confirmed Friday that Jones moved out of the rural Preston residence the previous night and is staying at an address in Rochester. Jones was required to register his new address with police within 24 hours of moving.
Jones was convicted in 2004 of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with minor female victims under 16. He was released from prison in October 2012. According to state guidelines, Level 3 sex offenders are considered at greatest risk to re-offend.
