Experience a weekend at Valley Christian Center (VCC) for a life-long love affair...

"Just bring your spouse," said the Rev. Steve Kuno of VCC, anticipating the Spring Valley Church's Feb. 8 and 9 marriage seminar, "Lifelong Love Affair," a live simulcast from Gateway Church of South Lake, Texas, featuring Jimmy and Karen Evans, of the television show "Marriage Today."

The seminar fits VCC's mission in that "one of our vision statements is that the church is to be a place where strong marriages are taught and modeled."

The simulcast conference is open to all couples, from newlyweds to people that have been married for a long time, and participants do not have to belong to VCC or any church at all.

The Evanses will present marriage advice that is "very insightful but very practical to apply to everyday life."

"This will help marriages at all levels. Marriages are always going through different stages in life, and this gives you the tools and insight how to deal with those stages. This is a resource to help all kinds of marriages. Strong or struggling marriages will all benefit," said Kuno.

According to VCC members sponsoring the event, the Evanses hope to teach seminar participants "how to have a passionate and deeply rewarding marriage."

Comments from previous conference attendees and speakers Kuno quoted included, "Jimmy Evans isn't just one of the best speakers and authors on marriage, I know that what he shares in 'Lifelong Love Affair' comes from his heart and from the incredible insight and revelation he has received from the Lord.

"Apply these biblical principles, and you'll have more than a good marriage - you'll build a strong, lasting marriage, rooted in God's eternal love."

Approximately 60 people attended last year's VCC simulcast of the Evanses' conference. The seminar answered "many questions that people had about Jimmy, addressed in a powerful way."

"'It's really for all marriages at all levels.' That was one of the amazing comments about last year's conference. All marriages got a lot out of it. Everyone really enjoyed it ... yes, even the men did, as well," said Kuno.

This year, he invited, "Come knowing that your marriage will go to the next level."

VCC's presentation of "Lifelong Love Affair" with Jimmy and Karen Evans is slated for Friday, Feb. 8, at 6:50 p.m. and Feb. 9 at 8:50 a.m. at Valley Christian Center, located on Territorial Road in Spring Valley.

Kuno added, "There will be some refreshments in the evening and a light breakfast in the morning on Saturday."
