Wykoff Fall Fest invites participants
Tuesday, August 27, 2013 3:32 AM
The Wykoff Fall Fest Committee invites area residents to participate in a number of Fall Fest events, including the grand parade, the talent show, the brew contest and two homemade goods contests. Fall Fest takes place Sept 27 to 29.
The grand parade starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept 28. Line-up begins at 10 a.m. Entrants should contact Lynn Kidd of Wykoff. There is no cost to enter.
The first bi-annual "Strut Your Stuff" talent show will be held on the evenings of Friday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Sept 28, during the 2013 Fall Fest celebration. The show is not a contest; all acts are eligible, and all ages are welcome. This is a good time to "tune up" for the winter's cancer telethon!
Registration forms are available at the Wykoff Short Stop, the Gateway Inn, the Bank Gift Haus Tea Room and the Wykoff city clerk's office. They should be returned by Sept. 15. Questions can be directed to Eva Barr at (507) 352-4255.
Entrants for Saturday afternoon's brew contest should contact Roy Cerling of Wykoff.
The Sunday morning Fall Fest breakfast will include a local maple syrup contest and a home-made salsa contest. Entrants should bring either one quart of salsa or one pint of syrup to the Wykoff Community Center before 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29. The product should be labeled with a name and phone number. There is no charge to enter either contest. For information, contact Barr.
