The Cherry Grove United Methodist Church will again be offering a cowboy church service open to all who may be interested on Sunday evening, April 7. With the increased daylight and the return of Daylight Savings Time in March, organizers are going back to a 6 p.m. starting time.

The service generally includes bluegrass, country and cowboy music along with older gospel hymns. This month, several of the regular musicians will perform, anchored by Barb Mosher on the steel guitar.

A staple of many cowboy church services in other parts of the country is that anyone who is interested can bring their instruments and take part in the service, either by helping to lead singing or by providing special music. Any musicians interested in participating should plan to arrive at least one hour before the service, or one can call the church ahead of time to let organizers know who will be coming.

The next cowboy church service in Cherry Grove will be Sunday, May 5, at 6 p.m.

The Cherry Grove church is 12 miles southeast of Spring Valley, one block east of County Road 5, or one can call the church office at (507) 937-3177 for directions.

All are welcome to attend. Dress western and wear your best hat!
