Youth to speak at special service at
Root River Church of the Brethren

Michael Himlie of Harmony will be commissioned and speaking in a service on Sunday, Sept. 8, at the Root River Church of the Brethren of rural Preston.
Michael, the son of Todd and Kay Himlie of Harmony, has completed his freshman year at McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas. He will be serving one year in Brethren Volunteer Service following a training orientation at New Windsor, Md.
The church service beings at 10 a.m. officiated by the church's minister in training, James Grossnickle-Batterton. Following the service is a potluck meal at the church.
The congregation will then work on a time line for the service projects that connect the past to the present. Visitors are welcome.
