'Giant Book Swap' to take place Jan. 26
Tuesday, January 15, 2013 4:02 AM
Kingsland Elementary School students and teachers are encouraged to bring in up to 10 gently-used books for the "Giant Book Swap" set for Saturday, Jan. 26, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Kingsland Café at the school in Spring Valley.
Students will get one ticket for each elementary-appropriate book they bring for the swap and these can then be exchanged for "new to you" books. Each child will be choosing his or her own books, with teachers and volunteers directing the child to books of appropriate reading levels and interests.
Parents are encouraged to look over the books that their child wishes to bring to make sure they are suitable for a child in elementary school. Parents are also to make sure that their donation form is filled out and signed.
It would be preferred that books are donated by Jan. 21. Books should be brought to Jennifer Campbell's room, which is located next to the elementary entrance doors, to receive the tickets. If needed, one may also bring books the day of the event to swap.
Contact Jennifer Campbell for questions or if willing to volunteer at the event at 346-7276 ext. 1120 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
