On Feb. 16 St. John Lutheran Teens For Christ (TFC) raised $1,700 at a spaghetti dinner and silent auction for a trip next summer to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky.
Gretchen Corson, Megan Schultz and Raegan Eickhoff man the dessert table.
There are about 18 kids going on the trip along with a number of other family members.
The special guest at the dinner was Ellen Bauer from Ottumwa, Iowa, who spoke about the Creation Museum. The Creation Museum is a state of the art museum that brings the Bible to life. It is based on the idea that understanding the beginning from a Biblical perspective gives people the answers for today.
The museum is based on Genesis 1-11 and was designed by a former Universal Studios director. It is complete with computer generated visual effects, life sized people, and dinosaur animations, murals and realistic scenery. There is also a special effects theater and 23 ZIP lines.
The creation museum website is www.creationmuseum.org.
