The students of the Tippi Toes Dance program brought holiday cheer to residents of the Spring Valley Senior Living Center recently when they performed their “Star of the Show” themed show.
The Kingsland Community Education Tippi Toes dancers were the stars of the show as they brightened the day for many residents of the Spring Valley Senior Living Center on Dec. 18.

The first group from the ballet, tap and jazz class, ages 3 to 7, brought holiday cheer as they performed to "Frosty the Snowman" and "Be a Little Angel."

The hip-hop class, ages 6 to 12, brought a dash of attitude to their performances of "What Makes You Beautiful" and "Holiday Bounce."

The Tippi Toes Dance program, led by Whitney Walker, joined the Kingsland Community Ed program during the past school year, giving the youth of Spring Valley a chance to learn new moves, while bringing plenty of joy to those who watch them perform.

As an added bonus, students receive educational lessons on the names of the dance techniques, why they are performing those moves and methods to help them dance more naturally.

A video of the girls performing is available on the Kingsland Community Education Facebook page.

For those interested in signing up their youth for dance lessons through the Tippi Toes program, contact Kingsland Community Ed director Becky Bicknese at bicknese.becky@kingsland.k12.mn.us or Tara Cassmann, owner of Tippi Toes, at tara@tippitoesdance.com
