When you were young things were

Simple, like two plus two,

But as you got older your problems

Got more complicated.

You had to factor in everything

And divide it all out.

At some point you cannot

Take it anymore.

You slam the book and storm away

And you just want to forget it all,

But you will always remember

Two plus two.

Two plus Two was written by Kathryn Oakland, daughter of Rebecca and Brian Oakland. She is a sophomore at Kingsland High School.

Creative Ink is a reserved space where area students have the opportunity to submit samples of their poetry, writing, and other art forms, to be published. Participants are also encouraged to submit a headshot to be published with their work. Kingsland 10th grader Kathryn Oakland will compile the entries each week.
