Last weekend the Kingsland boys basketball teams dropped a pair of games to Plainview-Elgin-Millville, 91-59, and Rochester Lourdes, 79-55. Both of those teams are ranked in the state's top 10 poll; Lourdes is No. 2 and PEM comes in at No. 9.

Marshall Oeltjen had a double-double, 15 points and 11 rebounds against Plainview-Elgin-Millville, while nailing four of five from beyond the arc. Jordan Meskill was also in double-figure scoring with 14 points, hitting four of his seven three-point attempts. As a team, Kingsland took 34 three-pointers, connecting on 12 of them (35.3 percent).

Saturday night, Meskill led the team in scoring against No. 2 ranked Lourdes. Meskill had two two-pointers, two threes and was two for two from the line.

As a team, Kingsland shot 40 percent (20/50) from the field and 80 percent (8/10) from the free throw line. Three players were perfect in two shots at the charity stripe: Meskill, Larson and Lenny Moore. Rindels led the team with five assists and Filip Swanson had a pair of blocks.

Through five games the Kingsland Knights have very balanced scoring: Rindels, 8.4/game; Larson, 7.0/game; Meskill, 10.0/game; Oeltjen, 7.3/game; Plaehn, 7.8/game and Swanson, 5.6/game. Swanson (8.8/game) and Oeltjen (8.5/game) led the team in rebounding. Rindels is averaging 3.6 assists/game.

Tuesday night the Knights were set to host St. Charles and Friday night the team travels to Chatfield to finish out the year before the holidays. The guys open 2013 with a home game against Lewiston-Altura, Jan. 3.
