Carl Calabrese competes in the pole vault at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships
Former Kingsland athlete Carl Calabrese was recognized for sportsmanship when he competed in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held in Steven's Point, Wis., Feb. 22 and 23.

Calabrese, a 2013 team captain for the University of Wisconsin - River Falls men's track and field team, competed in the seven-event heptathlon and was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team for displaying exemplary sportsmanship throughout the indoor track and field season.

Calabrese finished 12th overall, competing against a number of nationally ranked NCAA Division III heptathletes. Heptathlon competition includes a 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1000 meter run.

Calabrese, a senior, begins his final collegiate competitive outdoor track and field season on April 12 and 13 when he will compete in the 10-event decathlon at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls Falcon Invitational
