Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland won the first round in the Section 2A wrestling tournament, but fell to top seed Jackson County Central in the next round.

Jackson County Central went on to win the section and advance to state. GMLOK is now in Section 2A and competed Thursday at Jackson in the opening rounds of the tournament, which moved to New Richland/Ellendale-Geneva for the final rounds.

As has been an issue for the Bulldogs all season, they had to forfeit three weight classes due to lack of wrestlers, giving Jackson a 57-20 win. Prior to the Jackson match, No. 8 seed GMLOK downed No. 9 seed Medford 45-28 to open the tourney.

Individual competition at the section will take place later this week. The state tournament begins Feb. 27.
