Twelve different girls scored against Fillmore Central last Friday night, en route to a 60-23 win. Leading the way were Lizzie Tart (11), Haley Colton (8), Melinda Woods (8), Cheyenne Losey (7) and Kailynn Hamersma (7).

"The girls had a great win on Friday to end their three game losing streak," said head coach Jill Thalmann. "The scoring was spread out among many players, which is a great accomplishment for the whole team. We came out strong and were very aggressive."

Some of the gals had really good floor games, including Haley Colton (3 rebounds, 2 steals, 6 assists), Jessi Kaster (8 rebounds, 5 steals), Marissa Bornholdt (6 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists) and Lizzie Tart (4 rebounds, 4 steals).

The win over Fillmore Central puts the gals at 8-9 overall and 6-7 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Cheyenne Losey had a fine game in an earlier 50-42 loss to R-P. She came up with five points, 10 rebounds, five steals and four assists. Marissa Bornholdt and Lizzie Tart each had 10 points to lead the team in scoring. Tart also had three steals, three assists, nine rebounds and went six for six at the free throw line. Melinda Woods had another good game with six points, six rebounds and two steals.

In another game last week, the Knights lost 80-35 Monday to the Southland Rebels. Cheyenne Losey was the only player in double-figures with 12. She also pulled down seven boards and dished out three assists. Marissa Bornholdt contributed seven points, five rebounds and three steals, while Lizzie Tart chipped in six points, three rebounds and three assists.

Tuesday night the gals hosted Caledonia and Saturday they will travel to Winona Cotter for a boys/girls double-header with the Ramblers.
