with win over St. Charles

Freshman Quinn Larson topped the scoring for the Kingsland boys with 12 against St. Charles in their 61-56 win Tuesday over the Saints. Larson was four of nine from the field, including two of four from three-point range, and a perfect two of two at the free throw line. He also had three rebounds, two steals and two assists.

Lenny Moore also connected for double-figures with 10, hitting all four of his shots from the field. In a balanced scoring effort, Marshall Oeltjen and Jordan Meskill each had nine, Filip Swanson added eight and Jacob Rindels contributed seven. Sophomore Marcus Plaehn hit a pair of baskets, four points, and pulled down a team high eight rebounds.
The Kingsland defense held Aaron Leistikow, one of the top scorers in the TRC (23 ppg) to just 10 points.
Offensively, the Knights hit 25 of their 43 shots from the field, 58.1 percent, including five of 13, 38.5 percent, from long range.
With the win, Kingsland is now 2-2 in the Three Rivers Conference, and 2-4, overall. Next game for the guys is Thursday, Jan. 3, when they host Lewiston-Altura. The ended the year with a game against Chatfield Friday, but due to an early printing schedule for Christmas results weren't available at press time.
