The Knights fell 47-0 to Rushford-Peterson in the football season opener Friday night at Kingsland.

Cole Kingsley scored three rushing touchdowns and ran for 100 yards on just six carries in the win for the Spartans. He also scored another touchdown on an interception return.

Kingsland quarterback Quinn Larson threw for 83 yards, completing 15 of 30 attempts. Marcus Plaehn was the leading receiver for the Knights with five catches for 53 yards.

No other details were available about the game.

Kingsland travels to Hayfield this Friday for a non-conference game. Hayfield, a Class 1AA team, will be playing its first game of the season.
