The Kingsland Knights boys basketball team was dominated by underclassmen, with only two seniors, Marshall Oeltjen and De'Angilo Funches, on the squad. Considering the top five in each statistical category, the Kingsland stat lists were dominated by the "youngsters," but Oeltjen's output and leadership is going to be missed next season. Oeltjen led the team in scoring, averaging 9.58 points/game. Right behind him were freshman Quinn Larson (9.50 ppg) and sophomore Marcus Plaehn (8.33 ppg). Oeltjen also led the team in rebounding, pulling down 6.81 boards per game. Plaehn was next at 5.44 rpg and junior Flip Swanson was just behind him with 5.36 rpg. Larson was tops in steals with 39 and junior Lenny Moore topped the list in assists, 69. Swanson was the top field goal shooter, hitting 44.95 percent (49/109) of his shots. Sophomore Jacob Rindels was the team leader at the "charity line." Rindels hit 72.15 percent, 57 for 79, of his "freebies." Larson made the most three-pointers, 44, with junior Jordan Meskill nailing 33 from long range. Kingsland got to play only one playoff game this year, losing to Lake City in the first round. The team finished 7-20 on the season, 7-19 during the regular season and 5-15 in the Three Rivers Conference.
