Tanner Lange and Spencer Klevan each scored 24 points in the Kingsland win over Pine Island, 75-49, in the first round of the Section 1AA-West Tournament.
Kingsland's Tanner Lange holds off the Pine Island defenders.
Devin Pokorney was also in double-figures with 13. Also adding to the point total were Soren Grandall (2), Sam Eberle (6), Josh Thompson (3) and Jesse Crowson (3).
In "numbers," other than scoring, Grandall and Pokorney each had seven assists, Klevan had seven rebounds and Eberle had eight steals (no arrests!).
"It was a great environment," said coach Paul Eckheart. "A special thanks to all the fans. Spencer Klevan had a big game in the paint. Grandall and Pokorney were unselfish in dishing out assists. Eberle was his normal 'spiderman' self. An all around nice team win!" Eckheart concluded.
Monday night the third seeded Knights were scheduled to play against No. 2 seed Rochester Lourdes. A win over the Eagles would mean a "date" in the sub-section finals Saturday, 6 p.m., at Mayo Civic Arena against either top seed Byron or fourth seed Lake City.
