The Kingsland Knights traveled to Lewiston-Altura last Friday night and lost to the undefeated Cardinals 33-6 in football, dropping their record to 1-2.

"Their numbers and quickness were too much for us on Friday," said coach John Fenske. "All of our kids played their hearts out though."

Lewiston-Altura dominated play throughout the game, until the fourth quarter. Kingsland did put together a couple of nice drives in the last stanza and finally scoring on the last play of the game. The second to the last drive had nine plays and the final scoring drive consisted of 11 plays and went for 80 yards. The final play of the game was a four yard run by quarterback Jacob Rindels.

Offensively, the Knights were led by Marshall Oeltjen. He carried the ball 27 times for 72 yards. Rindels had 16 yards on seven plays. Lenny Moore had two carries for 13 yards. Also getting some touches were Quinn Larson (1/-5), Jordan Meskill (1/1), Ethan Cronk (1/3) and Justin Kraling (1/1).

In the passing department, Jacob Rindels was 3/5, for 26 yards. On the receiving end were Marshall Oeltjen (1/3), Jordan Kohn (1/-3) and Marcus Plaehn (1/26).

On defense, Oeltjen and Meskill each had six solo tackles. Coming up with four tackles each were Lenny Moore, Jordan Kohn and DJ Smith. Coming up with three tackles each were Jacob Rindels, Ethan Cronk and Julius Wolf. Chase Ganser, Tyler Messner and Broc Fiegel each had two tackles while Quinn Larson and Marcus Plaehn each had one solo.

Kick returns were covered by De'Angilio Funches, Lenny Moore, Jordan Meskill and Ethan Cronk. Performing the kicking duties were Jordan Meskill and DJ Smith.

Next week the Knights open up their TRC-South Conference play at Rushford-Peterson (2-1).
