Last Friday night the Kingsland boys traveled to St. Charles and lost a Three Rivers Conference game against the Saints, 78-59.

Three Knights were in double-figures - Marcus Plaehn 12, Marshall Oeltjen 12, and Quinn Larson 10. Oeltjen also hit six of eight free throws. Two of Larson's baskets were three-pointers.

Larson (5) and Plaehn (5) were the team's top rebounders. Jacob Rindels led the team with three assists. Steal leaders were Larson, Oeltjen and Trevor Schwarz, each with two.

The team shot 32 percent from the field (19 of 59) and 62 percent from the free throw line (16 of 26). The Knights hit five of 25 from beyond the arc for a "cool" 20 percent.

Here's some information from the Caledonia game that we didn't get a chance to report on last week.

Individual scoring vs. Caledonia the previous week: 99, Kingsland 76...Jacob Rindels 7, Isiah Bubany 8, Quinn Larson 11, Marcus Plaehn 29, Marshall Oeltjen 21. Three's, 8; Bubany (2), Larson, Plaehn (3), Oeltjen (2). Marshall Oeltjen also had 11 rebounds, giving him a double-double against the Warriors. Marcus Plaehn also had eight rebounds to go along with his 29 points. Lenny Moore and Isiah Bubany each had five assists in the game.

The boys were scheduled to face Chatfield on Tuesday at home and then travel to Lewiston on Thursday and Stewartville on Saturday. Monday, they return home to take on conference leading Plainview-Elgin-Millville and then they face Wabasha-Kellogg the next night, also at home.
