Senior Cheyenne Losey scored 27 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Lady Knights to a 57-48 win over Fillmore Central Tuesday in a Three Rivers Conference basketball game.

"Cheyenne Losey was a great leader tonight," said coach Jill Thalmann. "She took charge and wasn't afraid to take it to the hole." Losey hit 10 of 12 shots from the field and was seven for 10 at the free throw line.

Jessi Kaster had a great floor game, pulling down five rebounds, getting five steals and dishing out six assists, along with three points. Haley Colton also had six assists, and four points, three rebounds and two steals. Marissa Bornholdt was three for six from the field, while scoring seven points and Lizzie Tart scored six points on three for five shooting.

Adding to the team's total points were Melinda Woods (2), Joclyn Pierce (4), Hannah Ramaker (2) and Kailynn Hamersma (2)

As a team, the Kingsland girls hit 22 of 35 field goals, 62.9 percent, and made 52.0 percent, 13 of 25, at the line. The gals only took one three-pointer in the game, and missed that.

This past Thursday night, the gals lost to Caledonia, 64-22. Cheyenne Losey led the team with nine points, followed by Kailynn Hamersma (4), Marissa Bornholdt (3), Lizzie Tart (2), Joclyn Pierce (2), Hannah Ramaker (1) and Jamie Thompson (1).

Kingsland is now 2-2 in the Three Rivers Conference and 3-4, overall. This week the girls will host Plainview-Elgin-Millville Friday night and Rochester Lourdes Saturday night.
