Lady Knights split; Losey averages 22

Friday night the Lady Knights lost a Three Rivers Conference game with Plainview-Elgin-Millville, 65-56.

In the loss, Cheyenne Losey, who is closing in on 1,000 points for her career, recorded a double-double, scoring 24 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. She also had four steals and four assists. She was eight for 16 from the field, with one three-pointer and seven for 14 at the line.
Lizzie Tart was also in double-figures with 10, hitting four of seven from the field and two of four at the charity stripe. She also had a good floor game with five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Melinda Woods went two for three from long range and finished the night with eight, as did Marissa Bornholdt. Jessi Kaster had six rebounds, two steals and two assists. Woods also had four assists.

Losey poured in 20 more points Saturday night, leading the Knights to a 52-38 win over Rochester Lourdes. Kingsland hit six of 13 three-points against the Eagles, two each for Haley Colton and Losey and one each for Melinda Woods and Jessi Kaster.
Losey (8), Kaster (7) and Marissa Bornholdt (7) were the leading rebounders. Bornholdt led the team with three steals and Colton topped the assist list with five.
The gals are now 4-5 for the season, 2-3 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Losey leads the team in scoring after the nine games, averaging 16.6 ppg. She's also the leading rebounder, at 7.7/game. Kaster is the leader in steals, 2.1/game, and Colton leads in assists, averaging 3.0 per game. Tart is the leading free throw shooter, hitting 20 of 28, 71.4 percent. Losey (55/105, 52.4 percent) and Bornholdt (27/50, 54.0 percent) are the leaders in field goal shooting.
