"It was a special game for all of us tonight," said Kingsland coach Jill Thalmann. "Cheyenne Losey made her 1,000th point and the girls played really hard. The first half was a little shaky, but we came out ready for the second half and shut down (Jessica) Brubaker" in a win Tuesday over St. Charles on the road.

Kingsland ended the night winning by 11, 53-42. Losey had a double-double, adding 13 rebounds to her 15 points, hitting seven of 10 from the free throw line and nailing a pair of threes. Lizzie Tart topped the Kingsland scoring with a season high 19 points. Tart hit five of her nine field goals and was an impressive 9/10 at the charity stripe. She also had seven rebounds and three assists.

Melinda Woods got into the scoring, six points, with a pair of threes, and Jessi Kaster added five points, eight rebounds and four steals. Haley Colton had a great floor game, contributing six rebounds, and team highs with six steals and four assists. Marissa Bornholdt added four points and five rebounds to the great team effort.

With the win, Kingsland evens its TRC record at 3-3, and its overall record at 5-5. Kingsland hosted Chatfield last Friday night and doesn't play again until 2013, Jan. 4, at Lewiston-Altura.
