The Lady Bulldogs are 1-4 so far this season, and currently 0-3 in Three Rivers Conference play. The gals got a big win over Mabel-Canton, 14-1, but have suffered close losses to Lewiston-Altura (2-1) and Houston (8-6). The team also lost a pair of TRC-South games to Chatfield (22-2, 14-0).

"Our pitching was big in the Mabel-Canton game," said coach John Fenske. "Neither pitcher issued a walk. Chatfield had the best bunch of hitters I think I have ever seen."

In the win over the Cougars, the hits did not exemplify the run and runs-batted-in production. According to the stats posted on the MSHSL website, GMLOK only had four hits, one each for Hannah Corson, Kailynn Hamersma, Haley Colton and Jamie Stevens.

However the runs were scored by Brittany Erding, Corson (2), Hamersma (2), Katie Apenhorst, Colton (4), Stevens, Shelby Erding (2) and Alayna Meskill. Getting the RBI were B Erding, Corson, Hamersma, Colton, Rialie Fenske (2), Stevens (2), S Erding and Meskill.

On the mound were Jamie Stevens (4 innings and the win) and Alayna Meskill (1). Stevens struck out two and gave up three hits in her four innings of work. Meskill did not allow any hits in her one inning on the mound.

In the 2-1 loss to Lewiston-Altura, GMLOK could only come up with three hits: one for Kailynn Hamersma and the other two by Jamie Stevens. Courtney Schmidt scored the only Bulldog run and Hamersma had the only RBI. Stevens took the loss in six innings of work.

The bats had a little more pop against Houston. Brittany Erding and Jamie Stevens each had two hits, while solo hits were recorded by Hannah Corson, Haley Colton and Courtney Schmidt. Knocking in the runs were B Erding, Corson (2), Fenske and Stevens (2). Only four runs showed on the stat sheet: one each for Hamersma, Stevens, Colton and Schmidt.

Jamie Stevens took the loss on the mound, pitching two innings and allowing four hits. Alayna Meskill pitched four innings, allowing just three hits.

No stats were available for the two 10-run losses to Chatfield.

This past Monday the gals hosted Spring Grove/Caledonia for a double-header, Tuesday they had Wabasha-Kellogg at home and Thursday they will travel to Southland for a TRC-South double-header.
