Volleyball team goes 1-1 in subsection; season ends at 12-17

The Kingsland Knights volleyball team downed Houston in a "play-in" game Oct. 22 and then lost in the subsection quarterfinals to No. 1 seed Wabasha-Kellogg.

In the three set win over Houston (25-11, 25-17, 25-14) Cheyenne Losey had 16 kills to lead the hitters. Jessica Kaster had six kills, with Kaylee Beevers adding five and Brianna Musel chipping in four more. Kaster also had three ace blocks at the net. Dig leaders were Musel (10), Haley Colton (6), Kaster (15), Lizzie Tart (9) and Rialie Fenske (5). Lizzie Tart had 26 set assists and two ace serves. Colton also had two aces.
Wabasha-Kellogg ended the Lady Knights volleyball season last Thursday, 3-0; 25-9, 25-8, 25-12. With the loss, Kingsland finished the season at 12-17. W-K is in the subsection finals against Mabel-Canton this Thursday. No stats were available for the W-K match.
