Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the special meeting of the School

Board of Independent School District No. 227, Olmsted, Fillmore and Winona

Counties was held on November 14, 2012. The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. at the high school media center. Roll call was taken with these

members present: Schellhammer, McMahon, Tuohy, Chase. Superintendent Edward Harris was also present.

Chairman Chase called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Members said

the Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion by Tuohy/Schellhammer to approve the agenda as presented.

Motion carried 4-0.

Mr. Chase noted that the reason for the special meeting was to canvas

the votes for the newly elected board members from the general election held

on November 6, 2012. Mr. Chase appointed F. Mike Tuohy as acting clerk in

the absence of Greg LaPlante. He noted that the elected board members

were: Jerry Chase, Gregory LaPLante and F. Mike Tuohy.

Motion by Schellhammer/ McMahon to approve the following resolutions and

abstract of votes cast in the November 6, 2012 General Election:



RESOLUTION

CANVASSING RETURNS OF

VOTES OF SCHOOL DISTRICT

GENERAL ELECTION

BE IT RESOLVED by the School Board of Independent School District

No.227, as follows:

1. It is hereby found, determined and declared that the general

election of the voters of the district held on November 6, 2012, was in all

respects duly and legally called and held.

2. As specified in the attached Abstract and Return of Votes Cast, a

total of 6,609 voters of the district voted at said election on the

election of (three) school board members for four year term vacancies on the

board caused by expiration of term on the first Monday in January next

following the general election as follows:

Jerry Chase 1,725

Gregory LaPlante 1,900

F. Mike Tuohy 1,881

3. Candidate Jerry Chase, Candidate Gregory LaPlante and Candidate

F. Mike Tuohy having received the highest number of votes, are elected to

four year terms beginning the first Monday in January, 2013.

4. The school district clerk is hereby authorized to certify the

results of the election to the county auditor of each county in which the

school district is located in whole or in part.

The complete resolution and abstract of votes cast is on file in the

district office.

On a roll call vote, the following voted in favor: Chase, Schellhammer,

McMahon and Tuohy

and the following voted against: None

whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. Motion

carried 4-0.

Motion by Tuohy/McMahon to adjourn at 6:40 p.m. Motion carried.
