Plink-o with the kids.

It's a hula-good time.

"We'll have games, like Plink-o, a duck pond, three-legged races, hula hooping, fishing over a wall, a cakewalk, tattoos, salad spinner art and a hot dog supper," said Chatfield Commercial Club member Kari Cousineau. "We had the fire truck, the police car and ambulance, and I'm hoping they'll come back. The Root River Rabbits 4-H are selling pop and water, and the Girl Scouts are doing the tattoos."

The commercial club is hoping for better weather for the rescheduled June 16 Families in the Park family fun night, now set for Monday, June 30, in the city park. They are hoping this event comes together without the black skies and sideways winds that descended upon the June 16 event.

Cousineau explained, "We're holding this to raise money for the scholarship fund for the senior class next year, and it's a fun night for kids elementary age and younger to be outside in the park, spending time with their families. It's also a chance for the families to support their community and do something for Chatfield."

In order to do so, attendees can join the commercial club for the by-donation hot dog supper and the $3 per child games and activities. All are invited to have fun with their neighbors on a late June evening.

The commercial club rescheduled the family fun night for the end of June so that families that have plans for the Fourth of July or for summer vacations can participate.

Additionally, the club has engaged the Chatfield United Methodist Church (CUMC) as a rain location, so parents need not worry if it starts to rain - there's plenty of room for their kids to play Plink-o and attempt to Hula Hoop at CUMC.

The Chatfield Commercial Club's Families in the Park event is set for June 30 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
