Ham it up and pass the syrup – there’s education to be given away.
The Chatfield Commercial Club is doing some sweet fundraising on Sunday, Aug. 10, during its annual pancake breakfast and bake sale at the Chatfield fire hall.
Club member Gail Nixa noted, “The club is sponsoring the breakfast to raise funds for a $500 senior scholarship – local businesses are able to provide a $500 scholarship for one of our graduating seniors.”
The breakfast, slated for the morning of the final day of Western Days, features pancakes, ham links, milk, coffee and juice, just in time for Western Days celebrants to rise, shine and dine before the ecumenical community church service across the street in the city park at 9 a.m.
Nixa related that breakfast attendees will enjoy “the food and people,” catching up with anyone they didn’t encounter during the previous celebration days, buying some cookies or banana bread, then trotting over to the park to take in Sunday’s activities.
She encouraged, “After breakfast, people can attend local Western Days activities and the craft sale in the park. It’ll be a great way to start your Sunday morning.”
The Chatfield Commercial Club’s annual pancake breakfast and bake sale is set for Sunday, Aug. 10, at the Chatfield fire hall from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Cost for breakfast is $6, and baked goods will be available for purchase on the side.
