Joe Chase has started to work on a poster commemorating the Chatfield Gophers' 2013 state high school football championship. The poster will be unveiled sometime in early 2014, when numbered and signed prints will become available for purchase. All proceeds will go to the Chatfield High School arts programs.

Chase created posters for each of Chatfield's three state football championships in 1994, 1995 and 1996, and is reportedly delighted to have lived long enough to celebrate the 2013 triumph.

Chase is a Chatfield native who received his training in the fine arts department of the University of Notre Dame, where the only two permissible subjects for works of art are religion and football - which at that institution are much the same thing.

Kelly Puent, Chatfield's art teacher, will be taking orders for the new championship print at the high school when the work is closer to completion.
