Brook Irish of the Gophers battles for the ball with a Dover-Eyota player.
Last Friday night the Chatfield gals got a 'signature' win over #5

ranked Dover-Eyota, 71-68. "We played well," said head coach Brian Baum.

Led by as many as 21 in the second half, only to have to hold on for dear

lives at the end, but we got the win. Hopefully a start in the right

direction for us, as far as being a little more aggressive at both ends of

the floor, against a very good team. Our three posts played very well and

Kirsten Keefe was great in all areas. Maddie Talamantes had a nice

'rebound' game, after struggling against Southland. "Just a great team

win!"

The "three posts," Traci McDonald (eight points, seven rebounds), Brook

Irish (nine points, seven rebounds) and MaKenzie Miller (16 points, 10

rebounds) combined for 33 points, 24 rebounds, five steals and eight assists

against the Eagles. McDonald had six of those assists. Kirsten Keefe's

'numbers' included 15 points, six rebounds, three steals and six assists.

Maddie Talamantes contributed 11 points, three rebounds, two steals and

three assists. Sidney Irish, back from her injury, added eight points and

three assists.

In two other games last week, Chatfield lost to Southland, 66-58, and

beat Wabasha-Kellogg, 62-28.

In the win over W-K, MaKenzie Miller (14) and Traci McDonald (10) were

in double-figure scoring. Miller (9) and McDonald (4) were also 1-2 in

rebounds. Miller also contributed six steals and five assists. Camille

Rasmussen came off the bench and hit four of eight shots for eight points,

and pulled down three 'boards'. Maddie Talamantes and Karlee Moulton each

had five points in the win. Brook Irish had a solid game with seven points,

three rebounds and two steals.

McKenzie Miller had a double-double (21 points, 11 rebounds) and Kirsten

Keefe and Sidney Irish each had 12 points in the loss to Southland, but that

wasn't enough to overcome an eight point deficit at the buzzer against the

Rebels. Traci McDonald hit three of four shots for six points in the TRC

loss.

Scoring vs W-K: Candace Gould 4, Kileigh Dudek 1, Kirsten Keefe 4,

Karlee Moulton 5, Camille Rasmussen 8, Maddie Talamantes 5, Morgan Henry 4,

Traci McDonald 10, Brook Irish 7, MaKenzie Miller 14. Three's, 2: Moulton,

Talamantes.

Scoring vs Southland: Keefe 12, Sidney Irish 12, Rasmussen 2, Maddy

Scoring vs D-E: Gould 3, Keefe 15, S.Irish 8, Talamantes 11, Kammer 1,
