It's getting into 'championship' season and the Chatfield cross country team is getting into 'prime time'.

Christian Bance finished first in the race at Plainview with "an outstanding race," said Coach Chris Frye. "He really nailed the hills and blew away his previous best time", added Coach Frye. Bance had a time of 16:38.6, beating second place Matt Schrupp, Cotter, by 16 seconds. "It was an impressive win," said Frye, "against some of the best competition in the section."

"Karen (Gomez) ran a very smart race as well, added Frye, in taking third for the girls. She's really coming around after being sick in the mid-season." 'Go-go' had a time of 16:13.8. Gomez finished behind Emi Trost (#1 in the state), Cannon Falls, and Emmy Buntrock, Dover-Eyota.
