The Chatfield Gopher baseball team sits atop the Three Rivers Conference with Wabasha-Kellogg, both at 3-0 in conference play. Dover-Eyota(2-0) and Southland(1-0) are also undefeated in TRC play. The Gophers are 4-1, overall, after losing to Hermantown last Saturday, 8-6.

Last Thursday the Gophers got a 9-2 win over GMLOK, in non-conference action. The guys had beaten the Bulldogs on Tuesday, April 23, 21-7, which was the TRC game. No stats were available for that game.

In the 9-2 win over GMLOK, Jake Neis, Justin Viss and Adam Hurley had two hits each. Neis scored two runs, while Viss and Hurley each scored a run. Leading the offense was second baseman, Zach Eggers. Eggers reached base all four times he was up to bat, scoring three runs. Zach had one hit, two walks and was hit by a pitch. He scored his runs on all the 'freebies'. Coming up with solo hits were Tommy Jech and Noah Grant. Sacrifice flies were recorded by Mitch Irish, Jech and Ben Pierce.

Doing the pitching were Tommy Jech(11 batters), Sawyer Prinsen(13 batters) and Ethan Woltz(5 batters).

In the two-run loss to Hermantown, Chatfield used five different pitchers; Drew Hurley(2.1), Jake Neis(1.2), Tommy Jech(1), Sawyer Prinsen(1) and Ethan Woltz(1). Hurley gave up five runs(5 earned), five hits and five walks. Neis gave up three runs(3 earned), four hits, one walk and struck out four. Jech struck out one and walked two, Prinsen gave up one walk and Woltz didn't give up any walks or hits.

Justin Viss had two hits, with a walk, and scored a run. Getting one hit each were Zach Eggers(2 walks, 2 runs, rbi), Mitch Irish(rbi), Noah Grant(sac fly), Sawyer Prinsen(walk), Drew Hurley(double, run) and Ben Pierce(run).
