In their last three regular season games, the Chatfield Gophers won two

and lost one; beating Lewiston-Altura (65-53) and Wabasha-Kellogg (71-42),

and losing to Southland (55-53).

The guys most recent game was a two point loss to the Rebels, on a last

second shot. Ironically, the team lost a little over a week ago on a last

second shot to Kingsland, by the same score of 55-53.

In the game against Southland, three players were in double-figures;

Jake Peterson (12), Nate Skare (12) and Jake Neis (11). Guard Jake Peterson

also had a team high eight rebounds and a team high three assists. Jayme

LaPlante contributed nine points and five rebounds.

"I thought we played well," said Coach Tom Bance. "That kid (Sam

Klaehn) hit a big shot. The one that really hurt was Goergen (Mike) hitting

that three in transition after Jayme made two free throws to put us up by

four. We went into the game hoping to stay healthy and not show Cotter

anything special that we will do for them...and we did that, Bance continued,

so it was a good game. Even though it would have been nice to win!"
