The Chatfield boys basketball team started the season with three wins,

all in the same week. Tuesday they got a one point win over Dover-Eyota,

58-57, Thursday, another Three Rivers Conference win over Fillmore Central,

57-45, and last Friday an overtime win against Pine Island, 63-59.

"I'm not sure what happened to our 21 point lead," said Coach Tom Bance.

"Too many turnovers, I guess."

Dover-Eyota went on an 18-0 run to cut into their deficit.

Luke Isensee led the balanced scoring attack with 11 points, followed by

Nate Skare and Mitch Irish, each with ten. Jayme LaPlante contributed nine

and Jake Neis added six. Reid Danielson only had one bucket (2 points), but

played a nice floor game with five rebounds and five assists. Isensee had

eight rebounds and Skare pulled down seven.

Balanced scoring again against Fillmore Central; Skare (17), Isensee

(12), Neis (10), Christian Bance (7) and LaPlante six. Isensee led in

rebounds with nine. Jake Neis had three assists. Nate Skare hit three of

seven from beyond the arc (three-pointers).

Reid Danielson came to life in the win against the Panthers, with a

'superior' shooting night. Danielson was 4/4 from the field, including 3/3

from 'long range', and 5/6 at the charity line. The senior playmaker also

dished out seven assists.

Nate Skare (3/5) and Jake Neis(2/4) also had the 'sweet stroke' from

long range. As a team, Chatfield was 8/12 from three-point range. Neis

handed out five assists to go along with his 13 points. Skare was also in

double-figures with a dozen points

Jayme LaPlante had a nice floor game, coming up with six rebounds, three

steals and two assists, along with nine points.
